A Game Review: Abecedarium

Helping your children learn and remember new vocabulary words is a challenging task. However, with Sugar Lab’s Abecedarium, it will be much simpler! With colorful images and lively sounds, this game is one of the best ways to help learning take place alongside enjoyment.

What is Abecedarium?

Abecedarium is an engaging game that has an effective learning approach with the use of several features such as an interactive quiz. To play the game in English, make sure the flag on the upper left corner of is an American flag. If not, simply click on it, then an American flag will appear.

If all’s ready, click on the black “play” button.

2. To play Abecedarium, click the button with the ABCD letters. From there, your child will be free to explore and learn all the fantastic features of the game.

Knowing the specific features:
1.   ABCD instrumentals: The first thing you’ll hear when you get to the Abecedarium page is a piano instrumental of the song “ABCD” followed by other instrumental versions played by a violin, trumpet, guitar, etc

2.         Learning vocabularies: To familiarize your child with several vocabularies, there is a black button with a picture of books.

Once you click on it, there are different categories of vocabularies  -i.e. mankind, nature, things, writing).- There are also sub-categories as well. 

3. Tracking progress:  In order to test your child’s knowledge, s/he can try the simple tests by simply clicking on the dice button. There are different classifications of tests that your child can choose from. (i.e. matching the word/vocabulary to the given image, matching the word/vocabulary to its pronunciation)

If your child gets a correct answer, an applause background sound will be audible and the background of the picture will turn green.
