♕ E F F L U E N C E ♕: A GAME REVIEW: FOOD CHAIN

With the same maker of Abecedarium, Food Chain is another thrilling activity of sugarizer.org. This time, it will teach you about the food chain that involves different animals. There are no lectures or texts provided, however, there are several interactive games that will definitely ingrain the basics that you need to know about the food chain and its main actors, such as mosquitoes, frogs, snakes, etc.

Where to start: 2 simple steps

1. For those who do not have Sugar Lab's Sugar on a stick, you can simply go to http://sugarizer.org/

To play the game in English, make sure the flag on the upper left corner is an American flag. If not, simply click on it, then an American flag will appear.

If all’s ready, click on the black “play” button.

2. To play Food Chain, click the button with a frog. After, you’re free to explore and learn.

Knowing the specific sections

(note that all sections have levels. As you proceed, the level will get higher. Ultimately, the higher the level, it gets more challenging!)

1. The learn section: with the given animal, you will have to classify whether it is an herbivore or a carnivore by dragging the picture to its appropriate classification. It will be indicated if your answer is correct.

2. The build section: here, different animals will appear on the screen. What you have to do is align them from right to left just like how the food chain is arranged from bottom to top. For example, let’s say that the given animals are a bat, an owl, and a fly. Since flies are eaten by bats and bats are eaten by owls, the correct order would be: owl-bat-fly.

3. The play section: in this section, you’re going to control the direction of the frog (using your mouse) so that you can lead it to its prey, the flies. You will be given 3 lives before the game is over.

Warning: beware of the rocks. It kills your frogs.
